Misconception Conception:

Well, It's been a year. One year of blood tests, and pregnancy tests, and ultra sounds, and HSG, and Clomid, and Metformin, no smoking, no drinking....And I have NOTHING to show for it.

Honestly, I'm getting to the point where I just want to quit. With every pregnancy announcement and birth announcement I'm finding it harder to hold on to what sanity I have left.

It brings me to tears every day to see other people with what I want so desperately for Dustin and myself.

I have to force myself to not ask women in the grocery store if I can buy their babies off of them.

So this is what I have to say. Dear Coach WHOEVER from 9th grade Sex education. You Sir...Are a liar! It is possible for you to get pregnant by having sex once, But you should also mention that when you WANT to get pregnant it's FUCKING IMPOSSIBLE! And Also, Marijuana is NOT a gateway drug. I smoked Pot for years and never did anything more than get high and eat little debbie brownies.

I have to get some sleep. This day just keeps getting worse.

Let's Re-Cap shall we?

This whole blog was supposed to be about our first year and it came and went already. WOW! The last post I made was in MAY of last year! So, I guess I have to fill everyone (All 9 of you) in on what we've done so far!

In May of '11 we bought our FIRST HOUSE! YAY! Now almost a year later we are pulling our hair out trying to keep it together!

Doug and Lori and the kids came to visit us last July. SUPER FUN!

August I was back home for my birthday because Dustin was out in the field.

September we welcomed a little girl into our family, Dixie Aynn!!! our little LaLa girl! A boxer pitt mix that we found online. She's lovely and we are so glad to have her in our lives!

October we celebrated our ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY!!!! It seemed like that first year just FLEW by! One second we were on our first date and then the next we were buying a house. It went crazy fast!

November we got to go back to Michigan for Thanksgiving! It was so great to see my family and give them a chance to meet Dustin! They all really got along great and everyone loved Dustin!

Christmas was back to Texas and we spent 20 days with our families! It was so nice to be home and see everyone! Sadly it made us so home sick. I think we're ready to get out of the Army and go home for GOOD!

January was filled with BUSY BUSY days, Work and work and...more work!

And now We're a day after Valentines! So far so good!!!

Looking forward to this Saturday while we have Dustins birthday party! Lots of friends and food and some beers! It's gonna be a great time! (FINGERS CROSSED!)

Now, I just have to make sure I keep posting on here!

WE do have some AWESOME news! We're getting another puppy in a week!!!

No names yet, but I'll be sure to post pictures soon!

Love to you all!

Always, Sometime, Never:

My Aunt-In-Law did this and I really loved it.

Always:

Stay up later than my husband watching black and white movies.

Say I love you when I get off the phone with my Husband or my Parents.

Say Thank you to the Mail Man.

Want to sleep in, even when I'm super busy and can't.

Defuse tricky situations with Sarcasm.

Sometimes:

I forget to shave my legs for a week. Eww I know.

Dream about just Packing up our life and moving us all back to Tx and leaving the Army with Dustins Two week Notice...(Hey! I can dream!)

Forget to thank God for all of my blessings even though they are very apparent in my life.

Forget to put my wedding ring back on after I do the dishes and it scares me that I'll lose them down the sink.

Get so paranoid that I get crazy and have to call my Mom or Julie to calm me down.

NEVER:

Drink sugar in my Hot Tea...I think it ruins the flavor.

Have enough hours in the day to Love my Husband. I feel cheated that there are only 24 hours and for 8 he's asleep and for 12 he's working, minus 2 hours for travel and hygiene. And that only leaves me 2 hours of him being TOTALLY conscious to tell him that I love him.

Get really angry over things I can't control. I just cry about them!

Leave the AC on during the day. I just love the smell of outside too much.

Raise my hand in anger at anything smaller than I am. And that includes the damn dog even when he gets into the trash and drags last nights left overs in my room and under my covers.

Conception Chronicles!

Well, you heard it here (Probably) first. We are officially trying to have a baby.

It's very unnerving. We bounced it around for awhile. But, you can never really be ready. You just have to feel it. And we feel so strongly that it's time. I'm clearly not getting any younger. And we'd like to have our first while Dustin is still enlisted so that we don't have to worry about medical bills. I feel like if we don't do it now, We won't be able to for  QUITE some time.

It's pretty cute, Dustin has already started bouncing names around (Not very good ones mind you.)
But he likes a few of the ones that I've thrown out. I finally can put that list of baby names I have to good use. I mean it's all fun and games when your in High school and your Home and Family Development teacher gives you an Egg or a Bag of flour and tells you that this is your baby Don't drop it. But this is a REAL human being that I am souly in charge of. Kinda crazy. Yes MOM Augustus was thrown out of the window already!!! lol.

I'll post a link to the name list and I can get Y'alls opinons!
http://www.babynames.com/Names/namelist.php?x=19&y=10
Anyways. I'll keep y'all updated as we travel this journey!

Birthdays, Babies, and Craigs List Crazy

Well, It's officially Feb. & today, My Aunt-in-law just had baby number 5. ANOTHER BOY. Archer Lee Pamuk.

Today is also my Baby Sister Stephanies Birthday. She's a whopping 19 today.

And my husbands birthday is right around the corner. Of which I have no freaking clue what to get him.

I know I haven't updated much lately. But that's mainly because I don't have too much to say these days.

No social life, no job. And crazy sick.

That's about it.

Although I have been surfing craigs list obsessively.

But that's about it.

Blizzards,The reasons why I hate Georgia, Uhaul, Texas Time and No gators for me...

About three weeks ago, My hubbs was asking me if I had ever gone on "Leave". Of course not, I've never been married to a soldier and I've never been in the Military. He just laughed and said I was in for a treat. That sarcastic tone in his voice made me think that maybe we should have just stayed home, But of course, We're McPhates, and I was a stubborn asshole BEFORE we got married, no reason to change now.

Let's just start off with the "Signs" of why we should have stayed home.

  • Laundry was NOT dry before we left. Coming home to Mildew laundry...gross.
  • CY was LATE bringing the car over.
  • We didn't start packing until 11:30 pm, we signed out at 12.
  • Could NOT find where Dustin was supposed to sign out at. We wandered aimlessly around Ft. Bragg for two hours trying to find command.
  • Right around the SC/NC border it started to snow.
  • We started running out of gas in the middle of NOWHERE.
  • The GPS took us the back route into BFE GA.
  • We got stuck in someones driveway in the afore mentioned BFE.
  • Just as we got UNSTUCK, we ran out of gas at the bottom of a hill, and almost ended up in a ditch trying to make it to the top of a hill covered in 4 inches of ice.
  • Got a tow to the TOP of the hill, only to find out that our POV which is front wheel manual drive, has bald tires.
  • Got ripped off by the tow truck driver that the Cops called to tow us to the gas station. $125 for a 1/2 mile tow.
  • Got accused of loitering and being homeless as we waited for our SECOND tow truck driver to come take us all the way BACK to Augusta to get new tires.
  • All the tire shops were either closed or couldn't get our tires for two days.
  • Had to rent a UHAUL just to make it out of GA.
  • Husband put DIESEL gas in an UNLEADED tank.
  • Drove 10-25 miles an hour for almost a whole day trying to make it out of GA.
  • Once in Atlanta, I-20 was closed and all streets leading onto I-20 were blocked off.
  • Wandered around in circles in GA till we could make it on to I-20.
  • As soon as we made in ON to the stupid freeway, we almost slid off a bridge.
  • Had to sleep in the cab of the Uhaul. 3 seats, Dustin and I...and the dog.
Now if this trip seems awful, it was.

Being home was great though. It made me realize that as much as I THINK I hate NC in my head, I hate it more...

It went far to fast, and I didn't get to see everyone that I wanted to see. But at least I  had the opportunity to see my family and some close friends.

So...Here are some of the pictures from our trip.
